Story
Ataxia is a rare neurological condition that I have only become aware of recently due to its impact amongst my own family, which has meant I am now looking to raise some funds for its UK Charity.
Ataxia is not a widely known condition, with only 10,000 people diagnosed in the UK. It can affect people of all backgrounds, ages and in different ways.
Two of my brothers are diagnosed with Ataxia and have symptoms to varying degrees. I have great respect for the way they have taken the challenges the condition can bring in their stride.
Running the London Landmarks Marathon as part of the Ataxia team is my way of supporting the charity which for over 50 years has funded ground-breaking medical research into causes and treatments. Ataxia UK also helps people with ataxia, and their families and friends, by providing information and support that is not available elsewhere.
It is the first time I have ever done anything like this but have been motivated to support this cause. I respectfully ask therefore that you might be able to donate. No amount is too small, and every offering will help keep me going around the course. 😊
Thanks in advance and for further information on Ataxia, please see the information a little below on this webpage or visit www.ataxia.org.uk.
