Story
As you all know I am never one to shy away from a challenge. When Jordan suggested I embark on this challenge with him I did not realise that it was 80miles, that's 130KM over 12 days and we would be reaching an elevation of 5554m, which is over 18,000 feet and over twice the height of Mount Snowden and Ben Nevis on top of each other! Mandy was quick to point out how hard it will be and that a charity should benefit from the achievement!!
It would be a privilege and an honour to know that my adventure will benefit the charity, so if you could donate and/or share with others who may do the same it would be really appreciated.
So, less about the trek and more about Autism Early Support Trust Limited (AES) who deliver early support and specialist education to autistic children, children with sensory, communication and interaction differences, and their families. They were founded in 2001 and predominately support families from Buckinghamshire.
They believe every child has the right to timely and appropriate, high-quality education and that they should be given the best chance to find their place in the world, communicate their needs, and learn alongside their peers with acceptance and support. They also believe that parents should be equipped with the strategies and knowledge they need to fully support and advocate for their child.
Their positive impact is achieved by supporting children to navigate their feelings and learn new communication and interaction skills and by giving parents peer support, practical solutions and guidance. The differences can be monumental to family life.
