The Weston-super-Mare Lifeboat Station was established in 1882, today its volunteers operate a 24-hour search and rescue service along the North Somerset coast. To do this they rely on the safest, most reliable lifeboats and modern station to launch

Story

I have been involved with the Weston-super-Mare lifeboat station for nearly 30 years.

Being the Chair of the stations fundraising team, I have decided to walk 200k over 20 days to mark the RNLI's 200th Anniversary.

Starting on Mon 4th March, the RNLI's birthday, I will be walking along the promenade from the RNLI Shop at the Marine Lake to Royal Sands and back again twice a day.

The money raised will go towards supporting our volunteer lifeboat crew who provide a 24-hour search and rescue service 365 days a year, which would not be possible without the support of the public and your donations.

It costs in the region of £130k a year to run and maintain the service in Weston-super-Mare, all of which comes from the generous donations of the public.

Your donation will help to fund the selfless work of our volunteer lifeboat crew in Weston-super-Mare, by doing so you will be helping to save lives around our coast and will be providing the best equipment possible to ensure the safety of our volunteers.
