Fundraising for Evelina London Children's Charity
Hi All,
I am fundraising for Evelina London and in January 2025, me and three friends are competing in the Atlantic Dash, which will involve rowing across the Atlantic Ocean, a 3200 mile row from Lanzarote to Antigua. We will be rowing for 2 hours then resting for 2 hours constantly, 24 hours a day for around 8 weeks. On bad days waves will measure up to 20ft high... here is a link to see what the Atlantic Dash involves; https://www.atlanticdash.com/
If you wish to follow our journey, we have a Facebook page; https://www.facebook.com/share/1rsYVj9ZRDpUpPAW/?mibextid=LQQJ4d
A paragraph from the Atlantic Dash;
**Living in a space smaller than a prison cell, in very close proximity to others; you will be sleep deprived, craving real food, staring out into nothing but blue and rowing for 12 hours a day, sea sickness, salt sores, shitting in a bucket. Waves the size of houses, the intense heat of the sun, so much time to think...
You can't get off. There is no hidden engine. There is no secret sail. There is no support Boat.**
The reason I chose to raise money for the Evelina London Childrens Hospital is in memory of my beloved younger brother Mark. I Lost my brother at the age of 18 years old from Aplastic Anaemia, after spending many years of his life in and out of children's hospitals from an early age.
Evelina London is part of Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust. They are the second largest provider of children's services in London and care for more than 104,000 children and young people each year. They care for children from before birth, throughout childhood and into adult life at both the purpose-built children’s hospital on the St Thomas’ Hospital site and at Royal Brompton and Harefield hospitals. Evelina provide an extensive range of specialist services for children with rare and complex conditions from across south London, Kent, Surrey and Sussex.
Please donate or share this fundraising page, whatever you can do for such a worthy cause and one that is close to my heart, thank you very much.
Thank you, Peter
