Story

Roland's Ride is an annual charity bike ride organised by Darlington Mowden Park RFC. 2024 will see the 5th running of the event, which will take place on Sunday 9th June. To see details of the ride, or to sign up to take part, please visit our web page at:

www.rolandsride.co.uk

Although our main method of raising money for mnda is to charge an entry fee for the event, we've found in previous years some people have wanted to make a donation or raise further money through sponsorship. This page has been created so that we can link anything kindly raised in this way to our event.

The target of £750 has been set to reflect the shirt numbers of two former rugby players who have unfortunately contracted Motor Neurone Disease

7 was the shirt number of Rob Burrow, the Leeds Rhinos and England rugby league star.

5 was the shirt number of Doddie Weir, the Newcastle Falcons and Scotland rugby union star.

All money raised from the event will be split 50:50 between research into the disease and support for those suffering from it in the local area.
