Coast-to-Coast bike ride (from Broadstairs to Burnham-on-Sea) · 9 September 2023

For all personal challenges organised by you or events not organised by Longfield, to raise money for the patients, families and unpaid carers of Longfield Community Hospice.

Story

Thank you for visiting my "Coast-to-Coast" JustGiving page.

Over 3 days (09-11 Sep 2023) I will cycle from Broadstairs in Kent (East) to Burnham-on-Sea in Somerset (West). That's about 415km.

I'll be raising money for two causes (choose the page you want) that were both very dear to the heart of my oldest and closest friend from university, Julian Eaton. He died in an accident in 2019 and I'd have done this challenge much sooner only the COVID pandemic interrupted all such plans! Julian had a distinguished service in the RAF Regiment and then, after leaving the RAF as a Group Captain, he was chief executive at the Longfield Community Hospice in Gloucestershire. He put an extraordinary amount of energy into doing good for others in both his - very different but highly complementary - careers.

Please join me in raising vital funds to support the Longfield Community Hospice and its work to help adults living with life-limiting illnesses, their carers, families and those recently bereaved, by offering a range of locally based free services, to help them achieve a better quality of life whilst living with their illness.

Many thanks! Pete
