Story

The Sara Lee Trust aims to improve the lives and well-being of people affected by cancer and other life-threatening illnesses in the Hastings and Rother area through the provision, free of charge, of psychological and counselling support, creative and complementary therapies, and therapeutic group activities.

The Trust is also the dedicated provider of end of life counselling and complementary therapy services to patients of St Michael’s Hospice in St Leonards-on-Sea and the Rye, Winchelsea and District Memorial Hospital.

I am also a Trustee of The Sara Lee Trust and have personal experience of losing close relatives and friends due to cancer as well as the work that the Trust offers in these circumstances. In particular i have completed this walk in the memory of my father who passed away 10 years ago now and also our good friend Jurek Kaliniecki who sadly lost his fight with Cancer in late May 2024.

The area of Spain where this 100km 6 day walk of the Camino de Santiago is taking place is also very close to my heart as my mother comes from a small village in Galicia just one hour away from Santiago de Compostela.

Many thanks for any support that you can provide to the Sara Lee Trust via myself.
