Action Medical Research is the leading UK-wide charity saving and changing children’s lives through medical research. For 65 years they’ve helped pioneer ways to prevent disease and develop treatments benefiting millions of people. Their research has helped to beat polio in the UK, develop ultrasound, fight meningitis and prevent stillbirths. But there are always developments required for more new treatments and cures for sick babies and children and we can’t do it without you.

**Help Us Support Action Medical Research**

We are a team of eight colleagues located all over the UK, from Liverpool, Sheffield, Birmingham, Northampton, Milton Keynes and Weston-Super-Mare, who usually only see each other through a laptop screen. Our jobs keep us busy, and our lives are scattered across the country, making it challenging to find time for social gatherings. However, we have decided to come together for something truly meaningful: to support Action Medical Research.

**Why Are We Doing This?**

We believe in challenging ourselves and stepping out of our comfort zones. By participating in this fundraiser, we aim to do just that. But this is more than just a personal challenge; it's an opportunity to make a real difference. Action Medical Research is a fantastic cause that supports life-changing medical research for children and babies. Their work has helped to beat polio in the UK, develop ultrasound, fight meningitis, and prevent stillbirths. We want to contribute to their ongoing efforts to develop new treatments and cures that can improve the lives of millions of children.

**Our Challenge: Race The Sun**

To raise funds and awareness, we are taking on the Race The Sun event situated down in the breathtaking Jurassic Coast. This gruelling challenge consists of:

- A 34-mile bike ride that will test our endurance and determination.

- An 8-mile hike through rugged terrain, pushing our limits and strengthening our bond as a team.

- A 2-mile canoe stretch that will require teamwork and coordination to successfully navigate.

We are determined to complete this incredible journey, not just for ourselves, but for all the children and families who will benefit from the research supported by Action Medical Research.

**Our Goal**

We are not only looking to raise money but also to strengthen our bond as a team. This fundraiser gives us a chance to enjoy a social event, connect with one another, and have fun while supporting a cause close to our hearts. We are united in our goal to help those impacted by health challenges, and we hope to inspire others to join us in this mission.
