My Story

Hi, I'm Peter. By the time of the Brighton Marathon I'll be 58. I like running, but haven't run anywhere near as far as this for a good number of years.

For the last 24 years I have run The Cat Gallery in York with my wife, Alison. We love cats and have dedicated most of our working lives to finding fabulous gifts to delight cat lovers and their feline friends. We also help to raise around £20,000 each year for two UK charities: Cat Chat and International Cat Care.

We greatly value the work that Cats Protection do in the UK and I felt it was time for us to do something tangible to support this bedrock of cat welfare in the UK.

I have selected to support the Lewes, Seaford and District Branch, partly because it is local to the Brighton Marathon, but also because my wife comes from Seaford and we love this part of Sussex.

Update: Due to the amount raised, it has been possible to support two branches, so funds raised will go 50% to York branch too!

I have set a fundraising target of £2,620 which may or may not be achievable. Absolutely any donation is more than welcome as all money raised will be put to excellent use by Cats Protection in Sussex and York.

Please make a pledge if you can. Every £ will make my training that much more focused and hopefully will mean I can achieve my goals on the big day!
