Story
I am fundraising for the Animal Care Trust exists to support the Royal Veterinary College's wide range of clinical, research and educational activities aimed at improving animal health and care
We got to experience first hand the first class care they provide when one of our cats Simba suffered life threatening complications following an endoscopy that meant he needed ICU care. Was it not for the blood transfusion he received (from a fantastic cat called Hector!) he would not be with us today.
Blood transfusions for cats is quite a recent service and one pioneered with the help of the Animal Care Trust. In 2024 a blood transfusion centre opened at the RVC Animal Hospital at Potters Bar and having been given a tour it is a fantastic set up catering for both cats and dogs that will be to the benefit of so many pets. The centre has been supported by donations so I want to do my bit!
Any donation is greatly appreciated by both myself, Simba (who will be cheering me on with his sister Elsa from home!) and my wife Catherine (who will be cheering me on from the course!)
