In an inspiring display of determination, 34 PEM employees took part in the gruelling Three Peaks Challenge, conquering the highest peaks in England, Scotland, and Wales in just 24 hours.

The Three Peaks Challenge involves climbing Ben Nevis in Scotland (1,345 meters), Scafell Pike in England (978 meters), and Snowdon in Wales (1,085 meters) within 24 hours. This demanding feat tests both physical endurance and mental resilience, as participants traverse terrains and endure varying weather conditions.

The team from PEM, comprising of employees from various departments, embarked on their journey with a shared goal – to raise funds for the PEM Charitable Trust and through their collective efforts, they have raised a monumental £18,500 so far, just shy of our £20,000 target.

The journey was meticulously planned, with team members undergoing varying degrees of training and preparation, and despite the exhaustion and challenging conditions, the team maintained a positive attitude and supported each other every step of the way.

“Completing the Three Peaks Challenge is a testament to the dedication and spirit of our team,” said Amy Hayden, ESG and Community Lead. “This achievement not only highlights the physical and mental strength of our employees but also showcases our commitment to supporting Cambridgeshire charities. We are incredibly proud of everyone who participated and grateful for the support we received from our colleagues, families, friends and clients.”

PEM extends heartfelt thanks to everyone who contributed to this successful challenge, including the three PEM minibus drivers and three external drivers (who arguably had just as challenging a time driving through the night to the three mountains!) and donors. The funds raised will significantly impact the PEM Charitable Trust, furthering its mission to provide support to various charities across Cambridgeshire.
