Story

We have brought the raft race back to the river Torridge. After an amazing turn out for our 1st event in 2024, we return Sunday 31st August 2025!!!

Starting at Bideford Quay steps, teams then make their way up to Bideford old bridge for the start line. Then they must paddle to the finish in Appledore Churchfields Car Park.

Build your own raft, minimum of 2 people and maximum of 4 people per raft. Each team must raised a minimum of £100 for the RNLI.

Awards for 1st and Most raised.

Appledore’s lifeboat station was established in 1825 and has served the community for nearly 200 years. The Appledore Lifeboat Station joining the RNLI in 1855.

The volunteer lifeboat crew provide a 24-hour search and rescue service 365 days a year, but none of this would be possible without the support of the public and their donations. It costs in the region of £250k a year to run and maintain the service in Appledore, all of which comes from the generous donations of the public.

Your donation will help to fund the selfless work of our volunteer lifeboat crew in Appledore, by doing so you will be helping to save lives around our coast and will be providing the best equipment possible to ensure the safety of our volunteers.
