Story
I'm running the London Marathon in April and raising money for the NSPCC. The NSPCC aims to protect children at risk, and find the best ways of preventing child abuse from ever happening.
It's a cause that I care a lot about, having been a residential care worker and mentored underprivileged children when I was younger and with my mum being a child protection officer, as well as teaching children with complex learning needs.
On average, a child contacts the NSPCC's Childline service every 25 seconds, at a cost of £5 per call. My aim is raise enough money to pay for Childline for at least as long as it takes me to complete the marathon.
For example, the fundraising target of £2200 represents the cost of paying for Childline for a total time of 3 hours, 3 minutes and 20 seconds.
That's absolutely rapid though, so it's therefore going to be a team effort. I need you to be as generous as possible, and I'll try and run as fast as I can! Thank you for your support :)
