Story
Back in 2019 I had a dream to go and Hike along part of the Great Wall of China. I booked this trip in November 2019 for 2021, but Covid came and disrupted all of our plans. The funds I had saved to pay for the trip were needed to pay for my kitchen so I delayed the trip for another 2 years to allow me time to save again.
This trip is fully self funded by myself, so all donations will go straight to the charity.
Back in 2019 I had chosen to raise money for Ronald MacDonald House but since then Alderhey have launched the Neonatal Surgical Appeal. This unit is close to my heart as I work with these amazing Neonates, this unit is much needed to allow Neonates undergoing surgery to have specialised Neonatal Intensive Care at Alderhey.
So I’m raising money for both charities allowing anyone who wishes to donate a choice.
The cost of living has being crippling but please consider donating anything amount, however small, to help these charities.
Introducing the Neonatal Surgical Appeal.
Our new Appeal is for a state-of-the-art unit for newborn babies - and their families.
Donations will help us to provide over and above enhancements and equipment for both the clinical space and family areas, elevating the new Neonatal unit from a facility that provides families with a safe and secure environment for their new-borns, to a truly world-class facility that wraps-around families with the most vulnerable babies in the region. Specialist neonatal staff from Liverpool Womens Hospital will work alongside Alder Hey staff at the new NICU ensuring that poorly babies are transferred between the two hospitals as little as possible.
The facility is costing £19.63m to build with the Charity Appeal aiming to contribute upto £3m.
