Story
I remain dedicated to raising awareness of breast cancer so people are aware of the symptoms, potential genetic links and support available, and diagnosed earlier and younger. In 2019, I participated in the Boobee campaign, which highlighted 100 women affected by breast cancer in the Manchester area. The number of secondary breast cancer sufferers I know is staggering, and some didn't make it. It's simply not fair but with more funding for research, we are so close to preventing this in the future.
This year, the Boobee 2024 campaign is supporting Prevent Breast Cancer, a charity focused on prevention for the next generation, and Make 2nds Count, which raises funds for research and awareness for those affected by secondary breast cancer. Throughout 2024, we are organizing events across the Manchester area to raise vital funds for our research projects. Our local Bolton event will be on Saturday, September 7th, featuring fizz on arrival, food, entertainment, and a DJ and incorporating some awareness information (bring your daughters). Let me know if you are able to join us and require a ticket - £28 each. Additionally, a few of us will be taking on an adrenaline challenge - further details to follow once finalised and booked.
