RIP Bro
My youngest brother Graham was diagnosed with a brain tumour after losing consciousness whilst on his motorbike in 2014.
Graham has had numerous operations and treatments, including taking part in a drugs trial that he knew may not help him, but could help future sufferers, all the time knowing that his remaining life would be significantly shorter no matter what he did.
On top of that, he has had to deal with the fact that his son suffers with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, a muscle wasting disease, that will not only shorten his sons life but significantly lower the quality of his life.
Graham has spent what time he has left with his family, however, with the tumour growing and becoming a grade 4 tumour, his life expectancy is now being measured in days and weeks, and if he is lucky, possibly months.
Graham had previously wanted to travel over to America with me if I ever decided to enter the 24 hour obstacle endurance race "Worlds Toughest Mudder". Maybe he wanted to support me or maybe just have a good laugh at my expense!
Very sadly, he will not get the chance now.
I will be entering a number of events over the next 9 months, including the Brighton half marathon, Hastings half marathon, various Tough Mudders, Europe's Toughest Mudder, the South Coast Ultra Challenge and ending with the Worlds Toughest Mudder in November 2024.
I am entering these events to help raise funds, and awareness, for people and families in similar situations.
Any donations and support that you are able to give will be greatly appreciated.
