Story
It's eleven and half years since I had stage 3c bowel cancer and I've only had those years because of the hard work and dedication of the NHS and Cancer Research Wales. So I owe quite a bit for what they have given me. This will be my sixth and final Cardiff Half Marathon raising money for Cancer Research Wales as my knee is getting a bit wonky. Last year was supposed to be my last Cardiff Half Marathon but my son's partner Lydia Harris sadly passed away last October having fought cervical cancer for two years. Something that young women of today are less likely to have to deal with, thanks to cancer research. So I am running this last time particularly in memory of Lydia.
So I would appreciate it if you could sponsor me this one last time.
I share the vision of Cancer Research Trust of a Wales united against cancer through world-class research. Together we will reduce the impact of cancer and improve unacceptable survival rates. We will work to make sure that the people of Wales do not have to accept cancer as a life-threatening disease. And we will do this by supporting the best cancer researchers and clinicians to make discoveries which will transform lives.
