Thank you for visiting my fundraising page to support Friends of Karen's 20th Annual Journey of the Heart Bike Tour.

This event IS FULLY UNDERWRITTEN, so ALL proceeds from the tour will go directly to support families like Ellis's. My goal is to obtain 50 donations OF ANY SIZE, so please help. No donation is too small.

Ellis, pictured above, is five years old and was diagnosed in 2023 with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL). In addition to the devastating emotional impact of Ellis's diagnosis on the family, it also meant medical and other related bills the family was not prepared for.

Friends of Karen's social workers and other child specialists worked directly with the family to provide guidance and advice, help apply to Medicaid for Ellis, arrange and pay for Ellis to have a tutor to stay on track for kindergarten, and ensure that many of the family's other bills were also paid. Other provisions, like gift cards to shop for Thanksgiving dinner and holiday gifts for Ellis and his younger brother were also arranged.
