Suffolk Churches Ride and Stride 2024

Fundraising for Suffolk Historic Churches Trust
£980
raised of £1,000 target
Event: Suffolk Churches Ride and Stride 2024, on 14 September 2024
Our annual sponsored Ride and Stride on Saturday 14th September raising money to make grants to churches and chapels of all denominations towards repair and restoration costs.

Story

I'm entering in aid of Walpole Old Chapel, 50% of the money raised goes to that and the other 50% to the SHCT for future grant giving [from which the Chapel has benefited].

We are having to replace old failing render in a project called 'Walpole Unwrapped'. It is a grade II* Independent Chapel which closed in 1970; its congregation formed in 1649 leasing a timber-framed and plastered house in 1689. Its interior is simple and original. It stands in a herb rich sandy grassland, now rare in Suffolk.

See https://www.walpoleoldchapel.co.uk.

We are now getting ready to apply for major grants for the work to be done but we need all the help we can get! It's taken a long time to get to this point. Any sponsorship you can give would be wonderful! Thank you
