Story
In a brief moment of madness, I accepted the opportunity to raise funds for #TeamSTC - the most incredible charity - by running the London Marathon in April 2024.
On 22nd September 2017, my beautiful niece was born to my brother Ian, and sister-in-law, Katie. I was fortunate to visit her when she was just 2 weeks old and she was perfect.
At 7 weeks old, Seren began having seizures and was later diagnosed with a rare mitochondria disorder. When she was transferred to Addenbrooke's Hospital, Ian and Katie were kindly provided accommodation at Acorn House, funded by The Sick Children's Trust which allowed them to be close to Seren. Sadly, on 20th December 2017, at just 12 weeks and 5 days old, Seren lost her battle and passed away in the arms of her loving parents.
In 2018, I accompanied my brothers and other family and friends on a mammoth 320-mile bike ride from Aberystwyth to Great Bentley, Essex where we raised an incredible £40,000 for SCT.
It costs £40 a night to support a family in need at Acorn House - so I figured it was time to get fundraising again, and who would pass up this opportunity.
I obviously have a lot of work to do, so it would mean the world to have as much support as possible. Even £1 would make all the difference.
