Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
A couple of members of my Cycling club have had the devastating experience of family members committing suicide. Up until the Pete's Dragons charity was set up to provide support and counseling for people affected by suicide bereavement, there was next to no support available. Unfortunately, they provide a much needed service and as such require as much funding as possible.
I am planning to ride Land's End to John O'Groats and back, starting and finishing in my home town of Budleigh Salterton, which is local to Exmouth, where the Pete's Dragons charity HQ is based.
I will be riding unsupported and over a route that follows the Sustrans Cycle Routes, avoiding main roads as much as possible. This puts a couple of hundred miles on the standard Land's end to John O'Groats route, each way. I will be covering the route over a period of 27 days, from 18 May 2024. This will equate to an average of 82 miles per day for 27 days.
This is quite a challenge, especially as I am a cancer survivor, having had my bladder removed in 2015. Any donations that you are able to make will help with my motivation preparing for, and during, the ride.
I have hired a tracker for the duration of my ride so you will be able to track my progress via the following link:
https://track.trail.live/event/paul-martin-lejogle
The tracker will not be live until 18 May, but you can access the link and see the details of my route now, if you wish. I hope that as well as providing feedback for my family during the adventure, it will provide added interest to anybody who has donated.
Thanks again, in advance, for any donations that you are able to make.
