Story
Over the last few years, I’ve done a walk or two. Ever since the first walk I did to London in 2018, this one has been bubbling away in the back of my mind.
So, with England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales conquered, it is time for a truly big route: Top to Bottom, John O’Groats to Lands End.
Time off from work secured, the route all mapped out and where to lay my head has been put to bed.
All that needs to start now is fundraising and actually setting off for the big walk. The adventure begins the 2nd June 2025 for 45 days and approx 900 miles.
The route will take me along the far East Coast of Scotland, John O’Groats to Inverness then on to do a bit of monster spotting along the shores of Loch Ness, Fort William, Fort Augusta, Glencoe, Loch Lomond (no time for a round of golf) leaving Scotland and a wander through the Lake District onto Carlisle, Preston, Warrington, Newquay, Hayle Beach, St Michaels Mount, Mousehole and then onto the South West coastal path on to Lands End arriving 17th July.
To get home, some say I should walk but I think I may have done enough so I’m flying from Newquay to Gatwick then a train home. Hope to see you all at Ross Castle then on to Willys Pub (Cleethorpes) for a pint.
