We train Medical Alert & Bio Detection Dogs to save lives by detecting human disease

Story

Hello everyone! The JLR Indirect Procurement and Raw Materials team are soon to embark on a challenging 24 mile, 12-hour walk through the largest peaks in the Yorkshire Dales and it's all in the name of the charities which are closest to our hearts.

My chosen charity is Medical Detection Dogs. 2. Medical Detection Dogs trains dogs to save lives using their amazing sense of smell.

Bio Detection Dogs detect diseases like cancers, Parkinson’s, malaria and bacterial infections in the charity’s training room with the aim of helping scientists and medics develop faster cheaper, non-invasive methods of diagnosis that could impact on thousands of lives.

Medical Alert Assistance Dogs support people with complex health conditions like Type 1 diabetes, PoTS and severe allergies by warning them when they are about to have a potentially life-threatening medical event, so they can take the necessary action and prevent hospital admission.

Any and all donations will be hugely appreciated and will go to great causes.

Thanks in advance!
