Story
Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.
Parkinson's is the fastest neurological disease in the world, it is complex, with over 40 different strands of the disease, tremors or shakes affects only 20% of people, but this is what people associate with the disease, this is not the case, everyone's journey is completely different.
Year by year Parkinson's slowly erodes your personality, your fitness, your health, your body mass, your ability to function, the very person you were, throw in anxiety, fatigue, insomnia along with his good mate apathy and you have all the ingredients that makes Parkinson's difficult to treat
Simply everyday tasks become difficult
Drugs enable me to function, but these have other side affects that cause terrible cramping, involuntary twitching, over the years the drugs increase, but the ability to function decreases, you have what's called on/off periods, off periods can cause freezing, unable to move & expressionless face, people sometimes think your staring, this is not the case
My drugs analogy would be MPH in a car, the more you put your foot down the quicker they wear out
but I’ve discovered that humour, words and a little bit of madness can go a long way.
Through my Life in Rhyme books, music, fundraising events and the occasional daft idea, I’m raising money for Parkinson’s UK.
Some donations come from book sales, some from events, some from people listening to a song — and sometimes just from somebody chucking a few quid in because they fancy it.
It all goes into the same pot.
If something I’ve written, sung or done makes you smile, laugh or think, and you’d like to donate, thank you, it's appreciated
Every pound helps.
Humour. Heart. Hope. ❤️
