Story
On Saturday 21st September, a group of seven friends, all in our mid-40s and semi-fit (being generous in some cases…), will be cycling 110 km in one (long!) day along the famous Senda Litoral coastal path in southern Spain, from Sotogrande to Marbella and back. While for some avid cyclists this may not sound like a crazy distance, it will be very hot, the path is very narrow in parts, with varied terrain, and none of us are experienced bike riders, so it will be a very big challenge for all of us! I’m the least experienced rider in the group so it is particularly daunting.
We are raising money for the British Heart Foundation in memory of our good friend Daniel Wayne, who very sadly passed away in May 2021. None of us were aware that Daniel had been living with a serious underlying heart condition, so we want not only to raise money for a great charity but also to encourage young men particularly, however fit and healthy, to get regular medical check-ups.
Together with Daniel’s wife Mel, his kids Zach and Livvy, and all his other friends and family, we all miss him terribly and we know he will be with us during the ride.
Please kindly click on the link below to give whatever you can to support a great cause in memory of a special person who was taken from us all far too soon.
