Story

My friend and fellow Veteran Simon Ransom has sadly been diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease, now in a wheelchair and attended 'Voice Banking' early in the diagnosis so that he may communicate when his voice failed, sadly he has now reached that stage.

Please see the symptoms of this cruel disease below-

MND can cause weakness in the tongue, lips, vocal cords and chest, causing speech to become faint, slurred or unclear. It can also affect gesture and facial expression. This means communication can become increasingly difficult as your symptoms progress, but there are techniques and communication aids that can help.

i have decided to go 'Silent' for one week which I will manage through sign cards to ensure I can still carry out my job as a Police Officer..

A mere inconvenience for me but for Simon such a life changing cruel disease.

The funds I raise will help the MNDA in their research and remember they have never been closer to finding a cure.

Please support my latest challenge
