Story
You’ve probably heard that our dad is running a lot (if you haven’t then you can’t have spoken to him this year - all we get is ‘10 marathons, 10 countries, 10 months’!)
He’s halfway through his challenge to raise money in our mum’s memory. Mum was raising money for a cancer research project at the University of Sheffield right up to the day she died. The torch had been passed on and Team Verrico, the family charity had continued to work with the University of Sheffield to develop research into the metastatic pathway to give families like ours more tomorrows.
Marathon 6 is Riga. Dad goosed his knee in Zurich and promises to hobble round anyway. We thought we’d fly the family flag and enter the none marathon events which take place on Saturday. As the only British kids running, we also get to fly the GB flag, which is kinda cool. We’ve been training with SMW fitness every Wednesday after school to give a credible account of ourselves and hope to do the family proud.
A load of dad’s colleagues at Eversheds Sutherland are coming out with us and one of his clients, so we want to see how fast they actually are! Anything you can give is very much appreciated.
