Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Following on from my mammoth London Edinburgh London cycle last year (and thank you again to all of you who supported me and donated to this wonderful cause) I have decided to take the next step in these type of events & ride in the "mother" event of the worldwide Audax calendar, being Paris-Brest-Paris, first organised in 1891 and ridden every 4 years since then, by up to 8,000 riders each time
This is another self supported ride, to a strict route & timetable, riding 1,214km in just 90 hours (including stop times), so roughly 4 days of riding with an expectation of being in the saddle for 16 - 18 hours per day, covering around 350km per day and hopefully catching 3 -4 hours of sleep!!!
Once again I am doing this, not just for the challenge, but in memory of our son Ollie, who Elaine & I of course still miss as if it was only yesterday that we lost him, and we both still struggle on a daily basis to come to terms with the loss.
It is hugely thanks to Pete's Dragons and the sessions & chats with them that we are able to keep going, and we hope with their support to one day come out the other side.
Please help me, to help them, to help us in this continuing struggle, and give generously once more.
The event starts on August 20, my start time is 18.15, and if you would like to check on my progress you can using the following details: Your frame plate number will be J186 It will allow your family and friends to track your progress on https://www.paris-brest-paris.org/
Thank you
Patrick
