It has been 8 months since Hugh/Dad/Grandad passed away. We still feel his absence keenly, but it was in no small part thanks to the extraordinary treatment and care he received from the Royal Marsden that we were able to enjoy several happy years with him after his initial diagnosis. For that, we will always be grateful.

For Patrick and Katie, trying to run distance again has been at times therapeutic, but mostly an uncomfortable confirmation that fitness doesn’t come quite as easily as it once did (especially with Jacob bouncing along effortlessly beside us). This Sunday, the three of us will be running the Royal Parks half marathon – in memory of Hugh and in support of the Marsden & all those who benefit from their work today and in the future.
