Patrick's fundraiser for Canal & River Trust

London Marathon 2025 · 27 April 2025 · Start fundraising for this event
I am currently training hard to run my fifth London Marathon on 27 April 2025. Some of you will be pleased to know that I won’t be running it in a Womble suit again! All my friends know I love paddleboarding and spending time on the UK’s canals and rivers. Therefore, I have decided to try to raise £2,000 for the Canal & River Trust, a charity dedicated to caring for and revitalizing over 2,000 miles of waterways. They believe that life is better by water! Spending time on the water has helped me with my overall well-being and mental health, and I urge all of you to give it a try.
I have come up with a few crazy ideas to try and raise the £2,000. The first of these will be taking place in March 2025, when I will attempt to paddle from my hometown of Northampton to London. The second fundraiser will involve me living and working on a paddle board for several days until I reach my target of £2,000! Please keep an eye on my social media accounts for more details of these bold adventures and to see how my fundraising is going!
The need to protect our precious waterways has never been more urgent. These natural resources are essential not only for wildlife but also for the well-being of our communities. By supporting me and the Canal & River Trust, we can ensure that these beautiful spaces remain accessible and vibrant for generations to come. I have a few spare paddleboards, and if you do donate to this worthy cause, I will take you out on a paddle so you can experience the positive impact of paddling on the UK’s rivers and canals for yourself.
