It’s been 12 years since our father, Ketan Patel, was diagnosed with Prostate Cancer and it still feels surreal how this single event altered the course of our lives. By God’s grace and blessings, our family were able to come to terms with the impact of the diagnosis and did not allow our faith to waiver through the difficult period.
Our father is the foundation upon which our family is built. We are eternally grateful that he overcame this obstacle and was granted a new lease of life. He has always been dependable and supported us through the challenges we faced at school, regardless of the greatest challenge he faced at the time. We will forever be grateful for his unyielding support through our studies and for pushing us to never stray from efforts to becoming the best we can be.
We would also like to give a shout out to a recent success story of one of our father’s dearest and oldest friends, whose family supported us during our tough time and cheered us on at the 2022 March for Men! We’re extremely proud of you Kaka and were so happy to hear that you were fortunate to identify this early on before it progressed.
To continue our fight against cancer, we are joining the 10k March for Men on the 2nd June around Battersea Park. This is in support of our father’s story for the 2022 March for Men and for others within our community that have been affected by prostate cancer. We would like to encourage all men to be aware of your physical self and make that all important Dr’s appointment to check any pain or symptoms you may think are not important. It’s not only the men aged 75 and over that get prostate cancer, 1 in 8 men do and that’s thousands of Granddads, Dads , Partners, Brothers, Sons & Mates.
Thank you for visiting this page and for all your donations! Please refer to the webpage below for my father’s perspective on battling cancer and how important raising awareness of this to men in the community is to him! We have included some photos of friends and family that that joined us for support on the day of the 2022 March for Men, and would like to invite other friends/family to cheer us on for the day!
Thank you again for all your support.
Kindest Regards,
Prem, Arjun and Radhika
