Art as a form of activism fundraising for Surfers Against Sewage

As a passionate surfer I experience first hand the detrimental impact of water contamination and frequent sewage release. I am hoping to raise awarness of a prevelant ecological issue affecting the UK and raise funds to support Surfers Against Sewage.
As an artist my work explores how data/scientific evidence can be harnessed as a means of activism that encourages change, utilising raw data relating to social and ecological issues as a means of driving kinetic movement and colour change through the development of interactive sculptural forms.
50°47'30 0N 4° 33'34 1W acts as a visual metaphor for sewage discharge data. The sculpture is programmed using data provided by Surfers Against Sewage to highlight the enviornmental and human impact of water contamination and sewage release.
