Story

Just 8 months ago we decided to start running together signing up to Cardiff 10k and half marathon, we have always said it’s our inspiration to run the London marathon and what better way to do it than raising money for an amazing charity.

As nurses in the ITU department at the Grange University Hospital we unfortunately see a lot of cases of meningitis where patients need organ support. Seeing an increase in patients recently we have decided to choose this charity. Thankfully the majority recover but some people are not so fortunate so we have decided to raise as much as we can for the Meningitis Research Foundation to raise awareness and help towards future research to hopefully stop this awful disease.

Meningitis is deadly; killing and seriously disabling in hours. Small children and young adults are high risk, but all ages can be affected. Globally 1,000 people die daily. We fundraise to invest in research, campaign for vaccines, provide symptom information and support those already affected.
