Story

This year, Hope Against Cancer has turned 20 and to celebrate they have range of xxtreme challenges organised to help raise much needed funds to help support the work they do on cancer prevention and treatment.

Cancer is something which is likely to impact all of use at somepoint in our lives, either directly or indirectly by impacting people we care and love. Therefore, two friends, Ross the rower and Darren the retired adventure triathlete have decided to take on Hope’s Xxtreme paddle challenge, taking on 7miles in 7hours, with up to 7 boat lifts long the Soar in Leicester, to do our little bit in battling cancer.

Hope Against Cancer is a small cancer charity based in Leicester but has over the last 20 years has grown to be a renowned in the field of cancer prevention; therefore, we’re proud to do our little bit to help support them and the work they do.

We have funded over 100 research projects tackling many forms of cancer. In 2012 we opened a dedicated clinical trials centre at Leicester Royal Infirmary to offer patients access to new medicines and therapies. We also fund two nurses who add to the care and support trials patients receive.
