We raise awareness of cavernoma to improve the lives of people affected

Story

On the 1st of June 2024 we'll be climbing Snowdon, the highest mountain in England and Wales, to raise awareness of cavernoma and funds for Cavernoma Alliance UK. A cavernoma is an often unheard of condition caused by a cluster of abnormal blood vessels in the brain or spine. We want to raise awareness about this condition and raise money to hopefully one day find a cure.

Our beautiful daughter Emmylou was diagnosed in October 2023 at the age of 8 with Familial Cavernoma Syndrome which means she has a rare form with multiple cavernomas in her brain that have previously hemorrhaged and caused her very scary and prolonged seizures. She has always been so very brave through all of this, even though this life changing condition has hugely affected her day to day life in so many ways, she always remains so positive, laughing and singing as she alway has and we couldn't be more proud of her.

The mission of Cavernoma Alliance UK is to improve the quality of life for those affected by cavernoma through education, support and research. Please help and join us in supporting Emmylou and others with this condition.
