Story
Hi Everyone,
I have chosen to fundraise for Multiple Sclerosis Society as this is a charity that I know has helped my Mum with good advice and mental health support since her diagnosis last year. MS is a life-long disease which affects the brain, spinal cord, and optic nerves which (currently) has no cure. Sadly, it took until my Mum was diagnosed for me to become fully aware of what this disease is and what it can do to people, both physically and mentally.
I hope to bring some awareness of this charity to my network, the work they do to help those with MS, and in funding research which goes a long way in developing a cure. One of the worst feelings in all of this is that I am unable to help or advise her and this is my way of showing her that I am there every step of the way. In this situation, the MS Society were there to provide solid information and stellar advice on the next steps my Mum could take.
It is not all doom and gloom - there has been significant strides over recent years in developing medication that can manage the symptoms. There is no good time to be diagnosed with MS, I am just thankful that there are good options available today.
This is an opportunity to step up, take on responsibility and do some real good for those around me. I don't expect everyone to donate, but if you do decide to I would be hugely appreciative - and I know that everyone working at MS Society will make sure that the money is spent well.
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
