Story
The Little Princess Trust provides real hair wigs, free of charge, to children and young people who have lost their own hair through cancer treatment or to other conditions such as Alopecia.
The charity is also one of the largest funders of childhood cancer research in the UK.
Owen (age 10) loves his long ginger hair, which has not been cut since before COVID. It has been a part of his identity. However, he has been offered a part in a play which needs him to have short hair... He thought long and hard about whether he would give up his flowing locks to take the part, and decided that he would like to do it, if he could also donate the hair to charity to make a wig.
It costs up to £700 to provide a wig for a childhood cancer patient, and this is where the rest of us come in. We hope you can spare a few pounds so that Owen's hair can be put to good use for someone who needs it. We'd love it if the full cost of a wig could be covered, and if were to exceed that target then it would be amazing to help with other wigs or cancer research....
