Fundraising through 2024 to support purchases such as the Innowalk machine which will aid the individuals we support. On the 19th of May, our Sense Cymru team, friends and family are taking part in the Brisco Gorseinon 10k.

Story

I'm raising money to support Sense Cymru. Throughout 2024, the team are fundraising to support the Innowalk project. The Innowalk would come at a considerable cost to the hub, therefore any funds will significantly support the aspirations to purchase the kit in future.

At Sense we support people whom are deafblind or have a complex disability, and this piece of kit will support the individuals with limited or no mobility from the hips down.

On Sunday 19th of May, along with my colleagues from the Caerphilly hub, we participated in the Brisco Gorseinon 10k in Swansea. Along with Izzy who uses our services, we got around the course in 1hr 47mins. Izzy has cerebal palsy and learning difficulties so it was a special time pushing her around in the chair and then seeing her walk the last 10meters and crossing the line on her feet.

After completing this, I thought I’d extend my fundraising efforts by running my second half marathon on Sunday June 9th.

Any support would be greatly appreciated. Diolch.
