We provide free conductive education to help children with cerebral palsy

Story

On Saturday 9th September 2023, five of our school staff will be raising money for Stick n Step by participating in a sponsored freefall parachute jump! Not content with raising money for Alder Hey Children’s Hospital last year by walking up Snowden at midnight in torrential conditions, this year some staff will be jumping out of a plane and flying through the clouds from over 10,000 ft at up to 120mph!

Stick n Step support children with Cerebral Palsy from all across the North West of England. Unfortunately, Stick ‘n’ Step receive no government funding and as a non-profit charity, all funds go towards supporting the children.

Our staff completing this challenge are funding it themselves to enable all contributions to go directly to Stick n Step.

Over the years we have seen first-hand the impact of Stick n Step’s amazing work on the children in our school. The sponsorship money that we are able to raise will help to fund and deliver services to the 110 families (including a number of Overchurch families) across the northwest each year and our staff wanted to show their appreciation by raising invaluable funds for the charity!.

On Wednesday 12th July, the children will be doing their part to raise money in school by completing an assault course - jumping, bouncing, tunneling and running to see if they can cover the same 10,000 feet that the staff will be jumping (3,100m!).
