This year One Special Day is on Friday 6th, October, and we are launching the first ‘One Special Day Football Fives’ event so that companies can get involved, play in a one-off tournament, have fun and raise vital funds for SpecialEffect.

SpecialEffect has held Football Five tournaments all over the UK but this will be the first one in the North East so we want to make this the one where:

1. Everyone has a glorious and fun day

2. We get as much of the industry in the North East/Yorkshire involved

3. We raise more money than any other event!

So c'mon, you know you want to strap on your Predators, pull on your company top and take to the pitch for the glory of being the winner of the very first OneSpecialDay Football Fives Cup!

The tournament will take place at Gateshead’s Powerleague, and we are looking for teams from developers, publishers, outsourcers and other games-related companies to take part. There will be an entry fee for each team of £350 (which includes trophies, drinks and food), and you’ll get a chance to mix with your peers in a refreshingly different social scanario.

We will also looking for companies to sponsor the tournament to raise even more funds for SpecialEffect so please drop me a line to find out about the (incredible value for money) packages we have.

We are looking for people to sign up or at least commit to bringing a team or two along, as well as sponsors. We can’t guarantee you’ll win, but we can guarantee a splendid day of friendly football, food, a drink and trophies for the victors. Plus, you’ll get that fuzzy warm feeling inside of helping a charity that does so much to give people access to the joy of games.
