Story
UPDATE: Hi friends! I just want to take a moment to express my gratitude for all the incredible support you have all shown for my Trek for Health efforts so far. From people asking how training is going, making financial donations, going on early morning and nighttime beach walks together in Miami, sending words of encouragement, and gifting me some very thoughtful travel-sized hiking essentials, I have constantly felt an amazing amount of support and have somehow been both blown away but also not surprised by how awesome y’all are!
FUNDRAISING ACCOMPLISHMENT: I am happy to report that I have officially raised the required donation amount! Thank you, thank you, thank you! However, the journey doesn't stop here, so I have set myself a personal goal of $10,000 and continuing to raise funds for Save the Children and Amref Health Africa, because every bit of support makes a difference! And honestly, I know the trek will be an adventure of a lifetime but one of the things I’m most looking forward to is working in one of the villages that our funds directly support.
TRAINING PROGRESS: Not much elevation or many mountains/hills in Mississippi but loving training so far! In October, I completed two 15-18 mile/4-5 hour walks with my pack and many more miles in general. Shout outs to some awesome coworkers (you know who you are), my wonderful daughters and husband, and some very supportive friends for excellent conversations that got me up early and kept me going along the way! October totals included 36 miles of walking, 24 miles of running, 27 miles of hiking, and ~444 flights of stairs climbed.
Thank you all for the phenomenal support thus far! Your generosity and friendship mean the world to me.

I have been selected to participate in Trek for Health 2025.
In February 2025 I will take on a 7-day challenge to climb to the summit of Mount Kenya. I will also visit an Amref Health Africa programme in Kenya where some of my fundraising will support.
I am one of 40 employees taking on this challenge across GSK & ViiV and we will represent 23 countries.
I am proud to take on this challenge, supporting Save the Children and Amref Health Africa because I am a pharmacist, a wife, and a mom. I want to show my daughters how to serve vulnerable populations, like the women and children of Kenya, and not just financially, but also through challenging work and putting in the time. This trek allows me to lead by example. I have been blessed with good health and easy access to proper medical care and nutrition, but not everyone has grown up with these same luxuries. I take none of these blessings for granted and believe that now is my time to give back.
Together we aim to raise over £160,000 and this will be matched by GSK.
Thank you for your support!
