Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit the JustGiving page for Mark Bailey's fundraiser - on your MARKs, get set, go!
Mark Bailey, head of service management, at Prior's Court will be taking on a 24-hour cycle around the Prior's Court track on a tricycle to raise money for the building of a state-of-the-art, autism specific performing arts centre. This Centre will enable young people with complex autism to access the performing arts.
This project is very close to Mark's heart having worked on the plans for the centre for a number of years. The current performing arts space at Prior's Court isn't fit for use and is in-accessible for many of the young people at Prior's Court. As a result, many of the young people at Prior's Court are missing out on the transformational benefits of the arts; communication, building confidence, expression, creativity, building relationships and more. The new centre has been designed with young people with complex autism in mind and will enable all young people at Prior's Court to engage and benefit from the arts.
Mark is determined for this project to go ahead and therefore is challenging himself to something completely out of his comfort zone and something that he wont be able to complete without a lot of training (Mark's words). On the 6th March 2024, Mark will be cycling for 24-hours around the Prior's Court track on a tricycle - the favourite mode of transport for many of our young people here. Plus, to make the challenge even harder, his 'rest breaks' will be being filled with performing arts related challenges, thought up by staff and young people at Prior's Court and voted on by the likes of you (keep your eyes peeled to get involved with make the challenge even harder for Mark!)
Thank you for any donations, each one will mean the centre is one step closer to becoming a reality and transforming young people's lives!
