But for everything that’s already been achieved, there’s much more left to do. Cancer continues to affect patients and their loved ones across the globe. Millions of people live without clean water. And the climate emergency threatens the future of our planet.

Every day, incredible research is going on here at Manchester to help solve these enormous issues. From cancer to stroke, climate change to global inequality - experts are searching for answers. But they need our help to make it happen faster.

I have never run 10km before, but I’m undertaking this challenge because I want to help increase the number of promising early-career researchers working to solve the challenges affecting our globe.
