Our Lady Of Ransom Catholic Primary School are supporting #BigHeartedFriday on FRIDAY 14TH FEBRUARY - for Little Hearts Matter, and the Collins family who have been directly supported by this wonderful charity.

Ellis and his family have been helped by Little Hearts Matter since discovering his complex congenital heart defect, at Heather's 20 week scan during her pregnancy...

Ellis' condition is called Tricuspid Atresia which affects the right side of his heart and means he essentially uses only half of his heart to pump the blood around his body. At only 6 years old he has undergone 3 open heart surgeries plus multiple other operations and investigations. Unfortunately his condition cannot be cured, and he may one day require a heart transplant.

A little over 30 years ago, the series of surgeries which Ellis hopes to have, were not around, and if it weren’t for these operations, he would not have survived.

Aside from all this, anyone who has met him will know, Ellis is a very happy boy who loves life and most of the time you wouldn't really know there's anything wrong with him at all.
