I decided to run the distance from Manchester to Monaco* (as the crow flys) covering a total of approx. 1300km / 807 miles, as part of THG's goal to raise £75,000 in support of The Christie.

*The distance will be achieved by running 25k a week for 52 weeks.

If our combined efforts hit the £75,000 target, THG will match the funds meaning a potential £150,000 will be raised!

I'm raising funds for The Christie in memory of my wonderful mum, who my sister and I sadly lost to cancer when I was 11 and she was 8. There isn't a day goes by that we don't think of her and wish the circumstances had been different. With our entire world being turned upside down, we certainly didn't get the support we needed as children to navigate the enormous gap her loss left in our hearts and lives. Through raising money for the Christie I hope it helps to support other families going through a similar experience.

The funds raised will enable The Christie to offer wrap around support for patients and families navigating a cancer diagnosis, and support the building of an Advanced Scanning and Imaging Centre (ASIC). This will be a new scanning facility to future proof the service and provide patients with the very best care and treatment needed, alongside a new state-of-the-art, high-tech 4D CT scanner.
