Story
In 2019, a very special boy, called Larsen, invented the Slideathon. Larsen wanted to raise money for the children's hospital where he was being treated for a rare and aggressive brain tumour. Every Monday, he would walk into the hospital and admire the fundraising board which celebrated the challenges and adventures that others had taken on to raise money for children like him. He knew that at just 4 years old, he wasn't big enough to take on a sky dive or run a marathon... and that got him thinking, exactly what could a 4 year old do? That's it! He had it! A Slideathon! Larsen vowed to complete a slide-marathon: 26 slides in a day! Larsen completed his Slideathon over Easter and was cheered on by friends and family, travelling to slides, play parks, waterparks and farm parks around Nottinghamshire to find 26 different slides and he raised thousands of pounds for the hospital. Join us this Easter for the biggest Slideathon yet and make a difference for children with brain tumours.
