Story
What is Arch2Arc?
The hardest triathlon ever? A solo event where you run from Marble Arch to Dover (87 miles - over three marathons), then you swim the English Channel (or La Manche😉), and then, if you make it to France, you round it off with a 187-mile bike ride to the Arc de Triomphe. To date, only 53 people have ever completed it. Nuts, right?
When?
My “window” opens on the 18-August 2023 although the exact date is dependent on the channel weather.
Why?
It’s there to be done? I want to see what my limits are? Can a middle-aged (54), utterly mediocre athlete that has a current torn meniscus and recently broken clavicle overcome all of that?
The Samaritans?
Exercise has always helped me in managing my mental health, especially during tough times. The growing statistics around suicide and mental health problems are shocking, and we all know someone whose life has been impacted or cut short because of it. That’s why I feel it’s important to support the Samaritans. The Samaritans provide vital emotional support and crisis intervention to those on the edge.
So, please dig deep and make this nuts endeavour about something much bigger than just me.
Thank you,
Ollie
Ps. Huge thanks to all those that have supported me, will be “support” on the event and pieced me back together after my various wobbles.
