Story
Well hello there!
In a few weeks' time, I'm going to be running 15km and taking on 20 muddy (and quite frankly, horrific sounding) obstacles, in the Birmingham Tough Mudder - eek!
Thankfully I won't be taking on this challenge alone - I'll be dragged around by my friend and PT, Jake. He's doing me a massive favour joining me as I scream and swear my way around the course, and all while in the middle of training for his epic upcoming event - Road to 100 - which will see Jake taking on an absolutely wild 100 marathons in 100 consecutive days (!!!) across Europe. All this is to raise money for Rethink Mental Illness, a fantastic charity supporting those living with mental health challenges. I've set up this fundraising page to support his Road to 100 fundraiser, because it is absolutely epic what he's taking on, and all for a cause so close to my heart.
I've always been open about my own mental health struggles, namely OCD and depression (as a result of OCD being an absolute horror to live with). Working towards something like Tough Mudder has been a brilliant way to keep my mental health on track, and it's been so refreshing to spend my PT sessions not only attempting those pesky pull ups, but doing so while having really open conversations about our mental health.
And so while this page is part of a bigger fundraiser, all the money goes towards the life changing work Rethink are doing. I know everyone has a ton of other financial commitments, so if you're not able to donate, please share the page, or check out the work Rethink are doing and share that with someone who needs it. I'll be sure to post pictures of me covered in mud crying as a thank you. Peace out!
