Story

On 27th April 2025, I will be running Manchester Marathon for Freshfields Animal Rescue. Anyone who has had a conversation with me for more than 2 minutes is fully aware of the passion I have for animals. I am especially an advocate for adopt not shop, meaning that I will always encourage people to consider adopting from their local shelters before buying from a breeder. The reason for this stems from my very first childhood love - Spook the cat!

Freshfields will always have a special place in my heart, because this is where we adopted Spook. Spook was a black cat, about 10 years old and had FIV. Many others will put down FIV cats. Freshfields however gave Spook a second chance, and we had him until he was in his 20's. If not for them, I would've never had my first cat. They gave him the opportunity to find his forever home, and it was because of the donations they receive from people like you that he was able to have this chance to be loved. Freshfields not only look after cats, but many more animals that are given the second chance at life because of donations that are received.
