I am running a Half Marathon to raise money for PAPYRUS, Prevention of Young Suicide, in loving memory of our dear friend Alex.

As of January this year, we lost our beloved friend Alex. To this day, I cannot fathom this loss, and I will forever love him with all my heart. Alex spread joy and held the brightest smile in the room. His loss was a shock to us all. I'm forever grateful I could call Alex one of my closest friends, and I will always be thankful for that. Check on your friends, make sure they're okay, and give the people you love a hug. There is always hope; if you feel there is none, PAPYRUS have a helpline, HOPELINE247.

The laughter he spread will never leave us, but at 20 years old, he was taken from us far before his time.

I will be running the Salisbury Plain Half Marathon on the 8th of June in Honour of Alex; he was a phenomenal rower and runner, and we cannot forget cyclist. I have no experience running a half marathon, but I am doing so to make our boy proud, to raise money for PAPYRUS and to get more people talking about suicide awareness.

Our friends Sophie and Joe are quite incredibly running the full marathon, so please donate to them if you can do so as well. Alex will be beyond proud of them.
